The Surgical Department of St. Barnabas Hospital and the ACOS General Surgery In-Service Examination Committee would like to congratulate Dr. Rahman, who received the highest OGME score nationwide, Dr. Fontana who also ranked in among the top five scores nationwide and Dr. Vernenkar, for his dedication helping them prepare for their future careers.


St. Barnabas Trauma Team receiving award from New York City Fire Department for the exceptional care rendered to five critically injured firemen on January 23, 2005 after jumping from a 5 story building on fire.

 

 

 

Dr. Michael Weitzen along with Dr. Ron Verrier after receiving the Alexander Award for Residency Research at the 2003 EAST Conference (Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma), Amelia Island, Florida.

 

Dr. Weitzen’s Research Project was entitled “Repeat head CT scans in trauma patients with GCS of 15”.

 

 

 

October 2005 - Dr. Michael Stumpf receiving 2nd place award for his research on using Triple Contrast in Trauma Patients at the American Osteopathic Surgery Society Conference, Orlando, Florida.

 

2005 - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg chatting with the St. Barnabas ICU staff during his visit with an injured New York City Police officer who was admitted to the trauma service.
