Rehabilitation Medicine

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine offers intensive rehabilitation services to the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Our inpatient program on the 1st floor of St. Barnabas Hospital is focused on restoring mobility and function to patients who have experienced a trauma or an acute episode of a medical condition. The outpatient program on the 7th floor in the Ambulatory Care Center, at Third Avenue and 182nd Street, provides services to clients with orthopedic conditions, neurological conditions, pain syndromes, and developmental delay.

Services are provided by licensed physical and occupational therapists using state-of-the-art equipment and the most currently available treatment techniques. Several of our clinical staff are certified in specialty areas, including pediatric intervention, lymphedema treatment, spinal manipulation, and joint mobilization.
