The St. Barnabas Hospital Department of
Radiology consists of two divisions, Diagnostic Radiology and
Radiation Oncology.
Diagnostic Radiology
Our state-of-the-art diagnostic radiology
department includes diagnostic radiologic, fluoroscopic
equipment, mammography, multislice C.T., MRI, real time
ultrasonography, Nuclear Medicine, stereotactic and ultrasound
localized breast biopsy, bone densitometry equipment, as well
as complete body interventional services with C.T.,
fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided procedures.
We participate in community outreach programs
in breast imaging and breast education.
The radiology department is accredited by the
American College of Radiology in mammography, stereotactic
breast biopsy, MRI, ultrasonography, CT and Nuclear Medicine.
Our department consists of eight full-time and
three part time radiologists, with either fellowship training
or special expertise in the various specialties in diagnostic
radiology, some with dual boards or certification of added
qualifications.
Radiation Oncology
The Department of Radiology offers services in
radiation oncology through the St. Barnabas Cancer Center.
This facility is equipped with a Varian dual energy linear
accelerator. Planning is completed with AcQsim CT simulation
technology. The facility has IMRT capability with plans for
high dose rate brachytherapy.
This new service complements St. Barnabas
Hospital's long history of cancer care with specialists in
medical oncology and surgery. Pathology and the entire
radiology team contribute to a comprehensive and
individualized approach to cancer care with St. Barnabas
Cancer Center. |
