Respiratory Department:

24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Pulmonary Function Testing Lab (PFT):

Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm.

EKG: 7am – 11pm

Phlebotomy: 3pm – 11pm

ECHO Lab:  8am – 4pm

 

 
 


Cardio-Respiratory

Our staff of 31 New York State Licensed Respiratory Therapists and 10 Certified Medical Technicians provides Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Function Testing, Cardiology Testing, and Electroencephalography.

RESPIRATORY SERVICES

SCOPE OF SERVICE

 

The Department gives respiratory services to patients diagnosed with:

  • Acute Pulmonary Edema

  • Adult Bronchial Asthma

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

  • Respiratory Failure

  • Congestive Heart Failure

  • Chest Pain

  • Drug Overdose

  • Cardiac Arrest

  • Cerebral Vascular Accident

  • Trauma i.e., chest wounds, stabbing wounds

  • Neuromuscular Degenerative Disease i.e., muscular dystrophy

  • Pediatric Patients: Bronchial Asthma, Epiglottis, Croup

 

Procedure/Services:

The Respiratory Department provides a full service to adults, pediatrics and neonatal patients as ordered by physicians in accordance with the hospital, medical and respiratory therapy department procedure manuals and JCAHO standards.

 

The following services are provided:

  • Oxygenation

  • Ventilation

  • Removal of excess of CO2

  • Reduce work of breathing

  • Promote clearance of pulmonary secretions

  • Medication administration

  • Measurement of simple lung function

  • Respiratory Rehabilitation

  • Patient and relative education

  • Pulmonary Function testing

CARDIOLOGY SERVICES

SCOPE OF SERVICE

 

The Department performs and processes cardiac testing to obtain a recording of the electrical activity of the heart on patient(s) with:

  • Chest pain and/or discomfort

  • Palpitation

  • Cardiac disease

  • Dizziness

  • Syncope

  • Seizures

  • Pacemaker

  • Cardiac evaluation/screening

  • Therapeutic evaluation

  • Rehabilitation evaluation

           

Procedure/Services

The Cardiology Department provides a full service to adults, pediatrics and neonatal patients as ordered by physicians in accordance with the Hospital, Cardiology Department procedure manual and JCAHO standards.

 

The following services are provided:

  • Electrocardiogram

  • Holter monitor

  • Treadmill stress test

  • Pacemaker check 1

  • Signal average

  • Holter scanning

  • Phlebotomy

  • Echocardiogram with doppler

  • Transesophageal echocardiogram
