It is
the role of the Purchasing Department at St Barnabas Hospital
to procure for the Hospital the necessary supplies, services
and equipment required to maintain quality patient care. This
is normally accomplished through competitive bidding
procedures and group purchasing participation. Sales
representative must abide by the guidelines established by St.
Barnabas Hospital.
New Products and Evaluations
All new products or evaluations of products
must be approved by the Administration of St. Barnabas
Hospital and be accompanied by a valid purchase order after
approval by the New Products Committee.
Sales Representatives
Sales representatives must register with the
St. Barnabas Hospital Security Department before visiting any
area of the hospital and must wear the identification badge
supplied.
Sales
representatives are not allowed in any restricted or patient
areas including the Operating Room, Emergency Room, Intensive
Care Units and clinics unless authorized. If a sales
representative has an appointment, they must restrict their
contact to the purpose of the scheduled meeting.
The Purchasing Department
strives to maintain the highest quality patient care at the
most competitive price. Vendors who are interested in bidding
opportunities for sales opportunities are advised to call the
Purchasing Department for an appointment to come in and speak
to the Director of Materials Manager or the Director of
Purchasing, or their designee, to discuss their products. |
